Feeding New York During COVID-19

Friday, April 10, 2020
12:30-1:30 p.m. EDT
Webinar details included in RSVP confirmation email.

Food insecurity is among the myriad crises that have been heightened during the current pandemic. Food pantries, restaurants, and even hospitals have been forced to adapt and innovate in the face of this issue as they consider the well-being of their employees, their customers, senior citizens, and other vulnerable populations.

  • How is the restaurant industry, which typically responds to demand for food from customers, not only supporting efforts to provide food to those in need, but also dealing with thousands of workers now facing unemployment or furlough?
  • How are food pantries and other nonprofits working to get food into the hands of vulnerable populations, such as the elderly, and how might for-profit ride-sharing organizations play a role?
  • What can be done to support hospitals, who send recovered patients home to potentially isolated and food insecure environments?
  • How can organizations use volunteers and financial support?
