Anna Smukowski ’19
Director Investor Relations and Capital Strategies, LISC
Anna Smukowski serves as LISC’s Director, Investor Relations & Capital Strategies working to introduce, position and proactively market LISC’s core impact lending to nontraditional investors. In this capacity, she supports capital strategies aimed at growing LISC’s loan capital, including modeling of financial and social returns of LISC’s products and LISC’s Impact Notes program. Ms. Smukowski has also served as Program Manager for LISC’s Pay for Success program and started her career at LISC as Credit Officer. She began her career as a Strategy and Operations Consultant at Deloitte. Ms. Smukowski received her B.S. from NYU Stern and her M.B.A. from Columbia.
COO and Co-founder of CNote
Yuliya Tarasava is the COO and Co-founder of CNote, an impact investment platform delivering competitive returns by investing in women, minorities and low-income communities across America. Yuliya has built and delivered innovative financial products across three continents along with holding high-level risk management roles on Wall Street.
Before launching CNote, Yuliya led quantitative due diligence for over 20 mutual funds across multiple asset classes for AMG Funds. At Summit Rock Advisors, she developed proprietary analytics and risk management frameworks for a portfolio of over $10B in assets. She was one of 12 individuals selected for Acumen’s Global Fellows program, which led to her running strategy and operations for Juhudi Kilimo, a micro-finance institution in Nairobi that supports farmers and small-to-medium agro-businesses throughout Kenya.
Born and raised in Belarus, Yuliya has always had an interest in how finance can contribute to economic development and equality. She is a CFA and CAIA charterholder. Yuliya has spoken at events hosted by UC Berkeley, SoCap, Opportunity Finance Network, Deutsche Bank, and others to challenge conventional thinking around financial innovation as a tool for positive social change.
Managing Director and Head of Syndicate at Incapital
Ms. Waber is a Managing Director and the Head of Syndicate in the firm’s Capital Markets department. She has over twenty years of experience in the financial services industry with a background in capital markets, syndicate, private equity and fixed income trading. Her current focus is fixed income placement across sectors as the Head of Syndicate and the management of many of Incapital’s programmatic debt issuers. She co-led the creation of the firm’s values-based investment platform – Legacy™. Key issuers she has brought to the firm’s programmatic debt issuance platform include Capital Impact Partners, Century Housing, International Finance Corporation, Local Initiatives Support Corporation, Farmer Mac, and the World Bank.
Prior to joining Incapital, Ms. Waber was the Head of Private Equity Business Development for a family office and a U.S. Agency bond trader for LaSalle/ABN AMRO. She earned a BA from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Miami.
