Speaker Biographies

Daniela Vizcaíno

Program Manager, Wildlife Conservation Society

Daniela Vizcaíno has been working as Program Manager for the Latin America and Caribbean Program at the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) since December 2004. She assists in the planning and establishment of conservation priorities, strategies and provides support in developing and implementing wildlife conservation projects in Latin America. Prior to joining WCS, Daniela finished her Masters field research in Bahia, Brazil, where she studied the social impact of an ecotourism enterprise, and the interaction between a local NGO and rural farmers involved in the project. Daniela also worked in Conservation International's Ecotourism Department for over 2 years. In that capacity, she assisted in raising the level of ecotourism technical expertise of regional staff and local partners. She worked with local and indigenous communities developing marketing and business plans for ecotourism enterprises, and facilitated workshops on ecotourism product development. A native of Venezuela, Daniela has a B.S. in Biology from Universidad Simon Bolivar, and a Masters in Environmental Science from Yale University.
