Fran Barret

Executive Director, Community Research Exchange

Fran founded CRE 25 years ago and has been an advocate for nonprofits serving New Yorkers affected by poverty for almost three decades. She currently sits on the boards of the Non-Profit Coordinating Committee and the Community Food Resource Center. Fran formerly served as vice president of the board of the Community Service Society, and was on the board of the Campaign for Human Development. She has a master's degree in politics and education from Columbia University. Fran has been recognized by a number of organizations for her outstanding contributions to the sector: The Andrew Glover Youth Program, Asian Americans for Equality, Flatbush Development Corporation, The Educational Video Center, and the Industrial Areas Foundation.
