Speaker Biographies

Josh Baron

Manager, Bridegespan Group

Josh Baron joined Bridgespan as a consultant in September 2000 and helped start the San Francisco office. After a hiatus for graduate school, he returned in 2004.

Josh has worked on foundation and nonprofit strategy engagements and social capital market research, and contributes regularly to Bridgespan's knowledge initiatives. Prior to joining Bridgespan he worked at the Bain & Company offices in Chicago, Johannesburg, Melbourne/Sydney, and San Francisco.

Josh has been a strategic advisor to Junior Achievement of Southern Africa, and has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and inner-city tutoring programs. He attended The University of Pennsylvania, where he received a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of Business and a BA . in International Relations (Honors). He also holds an MPhil. with Distinction in International Relations from the University of Cambridge King's College, and an MPhil. and PhD in Political Science from Columbia University. His dissertation was entitled: "A World Newly Ordered: The Future of Great Power Peace and American Primacy."
