Speaker Biographies

Mike Lubrano

Head, Investor & Corporate Practice, IFC/World Bank Corporate Governance Department

Mike leads IFC's Corporate Governance work. He has advised companies, regulators and governments across the world on securities markets and corporate governance issues. IFC's Investor & Corporate Practice developed the IFC Corporate Governance Methodology which is used to assess the quality of governance of potential IFC clients and to identify opportunities to add value to client companies by improving their boards, transparency and disclosure, and treatment of financial stakeholders. Prior to joining IFC, Mike worked for the Latin America Region of the World Bank on the 1995 Mexican financial sector crisis and its aftermath. Before joining the World Bank Group in 1994, Mike was a Wall Street securities lawyer working principally with Latin American companies and their underwriters in accessing international capital markets.
