Carrie Van Syckel is a Vice President in the Urban Investment Group (UIG) at Goldman Sachs. Headquartered in New York City, UIG is a private equity initiative focused on underserved and emerging urban markets. To date, UIG has invested mezzanine debt or equity in residential, mixed-use and commercial projects with a total cost of more than $800 million.

Prior to joining UIG, Ms. Van Syckel spent five years as an Investment Banker focusing on the healthcare industry. Most recently, Ms. Van Syckel worked in Goldman Sachs’ Healthcare Investment Banking Division, with a primary focus on the Life Science Industry. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Ms. Van Syckel worked in the Investment Banking Division of Banc of America Securities L.L.C.

Ms. Van Syckel serves on the Board of Directors of National Healthcare Staffing LLC, a provider of travel nurse staffing services and Alliance Trace Media, a company focused on urban media and culture. Ms. Van Syckel received a B.S.E. in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
