Speakers
Catherine Clark has worked for over
15 years to support and build entrepreneurial organizations
and companies that achieve significant impact on deep
social problems. At Columbia Business School, she teaches
social entrepreneurship, founded and directs Columbia’s
Research Initiative on Social Entrepreneurship (RISE)
(www.riseproject.org), and serves as faculty advisor for
the Global Social Venture Competition (www.socialvc.net).
Previously, Ms. Clark was Managing Director of the Flatiron
Future Fund, a social venture capital fund, and President
of the Flatiron Foundation, both incubated by Flatiron
Partners, a JP Morgan Partners affiliate. Before that,
she was Vice President of the Markle Foundation in New
York. She began her career in Washington, DC, where she
worked as part of The Aspen Institute’s Communications
and Society Program and on development in Pakistan for
the US Agency for International Development.
Ms. Clark is Acting Chair of Investors’ Circle, a national
membership organization of social investors, and Advisory
Board Chair of Commons Capital, LP, a venture fund investing
in health, clean energy, the environment and education.
Ms. Clark holds a BA from the University of Virginia and
an MBA from Columbia Business School.
