Speakers

Ivy Gamble Cobb, LMSW, is Executive Director of The Family Center. Ms. Gamble Cobb was part of a team of four women who established The Family Center in 1994. Prior to founding The Family Center, Ms. Gamble Cobb worked at the NYC Division of AIDS Services as a Program Planner. Ms. Gamble Cobb is featured in the video “A Gift For My Children: Families Talk About Custody Planning”, and has co-authored articles on the issue of permanency planning and parentification. Ms. Gamble Cobb received her Bachelors Degree from New York University and her Masters Degree from Hunter College School of Social Work. She is currently completing a Doctorate in Social Welfare at the CUNY Graduate School and University Center. Her dissertation looks at the issue of parentification of children and adolescents in families where a parent is living with HIV/AIDS and what are the long-term affects for these children and adolescents.
