Josh Gelfman ’06 has worked at the New
York City Economic Development Corporation, the City’s
agency charged with stimulating economic growth in all
five boroughs. As a project manager, Mr. Gelfman has guided
work on projects in the Hunt’s Point Food Distribution
Center and, more recently, real estate development projects
in Brooklyn, including Coney Island, the BAM Cultural
District in Fort Greene, and Bush Terminal in Sunset Park.
While in graduate school for City and Regional Planning
at the University of Pennsylvania, he worked for the University’s
Real Estate Services group, focusing on leveraging University
assets to facilitate community development initiatives
in Philadelphia. Prior to his work at Penn, Mr. Gelfman
spent four years in business development for two Silicon
Alley start-ups in New York and two years working in Amsterdam
in the floral trade. In addition to a Masters degree in
City and Regional Planning, Mr. Gelfman has an MBA from
Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree from Brown
University.
