Thomas C. Barry is the President and
Chief Executive Officer of Zephyr Management, L.P., an
investment management company which he founded in 1994.
Zephyr provides financial counsel and sponsors specialized
investment funds with over US $1 billion in committed
capital. Zephyr’s private equity funds invest in: private
companies in Mexico, India and throughout Africa; debt
housing and healthcare facilities in USA; Zephyr also
manages funds investing in quoted equity markets of developing
countries and Japan.
Prior to founding Zephyr, Mr. Barry was President and
CEO of Rockefeller & Co., the investment management
arm of the Rockefeller family, from 1983 to 1993. Previously,
Mr. Barry was employed by T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc.
from 1969 to 1982. Among other responsibilities, he was
President of T. Rowe Price New Horizons Funds, Inc., then
the largest mutual fund specializing in small capitalization
companies.
Mr. Barry received an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1969 and an undergraduate degree from Yale University in 1966 where he majored in Latin American Studies. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Mr. Barry is active in numerous not-for profit institutions. His current service includes memberships of the Yale President’s Council on International Affairs; member of the Dean’s Council, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University; Trustee, University School, Cleveland, Ohio; Trustee, Hotchkiss School, Lakeville, Connecticut; Chairman, Summer Search, New York; Investment Chair, Outward Bound USA; Harvard Business School Alumni Association Board of Directors; Trustee, Trickle Up, New York.
