Yasmina Zaidman manages the Water Innovations Portfolio at Acumen Fund, investing in financially sustainable and scalable enterprises that deliver safe, sufficient, and affordable water to the Base of the Pyramid. Her focus is in India and Africa, where she has invested in a wide cross section of water enterprises. Ms. Zaidman has worked in the arenas of international development, corporate sustainability and social entrepreneurship for eleven years. Before joining Acumen Fund, Ms. Zaidman led the Environmental Innovations Initiative at Ashoka where, as Acting Director, she led an effort to capture and disseminate the best practices of leading environmental innovators throughout the developing world. She previously organized conferences on business and the environment and worked as an environmental consultant at Geomatrix, where she worked with Fortune 100 clients to implement environmental management systems and assure environmental compliance. Ms. Zaidman received a BA from Vassar College where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and cum laude and her MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business with a certificate in Public Management.
