Alex von Bidder
Managing Partner, The Four Seasons Restaurant

Alex von Bidder’s mission is to inspire transformation by co-creating safe containers.  Each of his roles is a different expression of his desire to connect with people, support them, and continue learning, teaching, and contributing.  As Managing Partner of The Four Seasons Restaurant for more than 32 years, Alex has been pivotal in making the legendary restaurant not only the home of the “power lunch,” but also a peaceful oasis for Manhattan’s most colorful characters—and the rest of us, too.  His vision for the restaurant is that it will become New York’s greenest restaurant and set an example for the rest of the service industry. The Four Seasons Restaurant is currently undergoing Cradle to Cradle certification with McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC) to help in this process.

In addition to The Four Seasons Restaurant, Alex is a certified Yoga Alliance Yoga Instructor at Yoga Haven in Tuckahoe, New York.  He is also a guest lecturer at Columbia Business School, Cornell School of Hotel Administration, and New York University.  Alex is a trustee of Rancho La Puerta, Tibet House, and Health Care Chaplaincy.  He is also a columnist for Absolute magazine, author of the book The Four Seasons: A History of America's Premier Restaurant, and co-author of the forthcoming Children’s Book with Leslie McGuirk.  Alex is a mentor and coach to many, including clients, students, and work shop participants.  He lives in Westchester County with his wife, Sandra.  Their grown daughter, Stephanie, is a professional horse whisperer in Aiken, South Carolina.
