Eron Bloomgarden
Country Director of U.S. Operations, EcoSecurities 

Eron Bloomgarden is Country Director of US operations, based in EcoSecurities’ New York office.  Bloomgarden has extensive experience in the areas of carbon finance, emissions trading and renewable energy, with an emphasis on sourcing carbon offset projects in North America.  Bloomgarden joined EcoSecurities in 2004, and managed many of the first projects developed and registered under the Kyoto Protocol’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), including the first project in the world to receive carbon credits.  Prior to joining EcoSecurities, Bloomgarden worked as a consultant for the United Nations Division for Sustainable Development and at International Business Machines (IBM), where he worked in strategic business development.  As someone committed to environmental causes on a personal level, Bloomgarden has previously worked with the Rainforest Alliance and was responsible for establishing the New York chapter of the international environmental organization, Surfrider Foundation U.S.A.  He holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) in New York City.
