Courtney S. Roberts '98
Private Sector Development Specialist, International Finance Corporation
Courtney S. Roberts is a private sector development specialist who has worked for the past seven years in investment generation and investment climate reform with the World Bank Group. Recent technical assistance assignments have taken her to a diverse set of countries, including China, Kenya, Malaysia, Malta, Montenegro, Serbia, and South Africa. Currently, she is the International Finance Corporation's (IFC) Africa Liaison for the Foreign Investment Advisory Service (FIAS), a multi-donor service of IFC, the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, and the World Bank. FIAS advises governments of developing and transition countries on how to improve their investment climates for domestic and foreign investors.
Prior to joining the World Bank Group, Courtney worked in Morocco for Citibank's Global Corporate and Investment Bank and as knowledge management expert for Abt Associates where she worked on USAID health finance projects in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. She began her career as a journalist in Poland. Courtney holds an MBA from Columbia University, an MA in Journalism from Indiana University and a BS in International Affairs from the Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.
