Vivek Taparia
Former Finance Executive, SKS Microfinance

Vivek Taparia recently worked as a Finance Executive at SKS Microfinance via a year-long fellowship sponsored the American India Foundation.  At SKS, his role was to support the CEO in the development of the organization’s business plan as well the procurement of an equity investment to fund SKS’s growth throughout eleven states in India.  He helped source an $11.5MM capital raise led by Sequoia Capital, the first pure for-profit investment in the microfinance domain.  His prior experience includes two years in the investment bank of JPMorgan in New York where he worked in various leveraged finance positions.  He previously spent a year in Mexico City as a Fulbright Scholar during which studied immigrant remittances.  Mr. Taparia holds a BA in Economics with a Certificate in Latin American Studies from the University of Chicago.  He is currently an MBA candidate at the Harvard Business School.
