Tracy Breslin, Director of School Leadership Development, New York City Department of Education

breslinTracy Breslin currently serves as the Director of School Leadership Development for the New York City Department of Education, where she coordinates programs to train and support aspiring and current school leaders. Prior to joining The Broad Residency, Ms. Breslin worked at New Leaders for New Schools (NLNS), a national nonprofit organization focused on ensuring high academic achievement for every student by attracting and preparing outstanding school leaders. As National Director of Recruitment and Admissions for NLNS, she led organization-wide initiatives to identify and select some of the nation's most talented educators into the program.

Previously, as National Director of Strategy and Development for NLNS, Ms. Breslin focused on organizational strategy, fund development and talent identification to support organizational expansion. As a Project Associate at Parents United for Child Care, a nonprofit advocacy organization in Boston, Ms. Breslin coordinated and facilitated professional development initiatives for educators and co-led a statewide task force to identify core competencies for after-school practitioners. She also served as an AmeriCorps*VISTA member, where she designed and implemented literacy initiatives in after-school programs.

As a student at Cornell University, Ms. Breslin evaluated school district Universal Prekindergarten Program proposals in New York State and helped develop one district's program for four-year-olds. She received her MBA from Harvard Business School and BS in Child Development and Family Studies from Cornell University.
