Rahul Iyer, Co-Founder and Executive Vice President, Primafuel

Rahul IyerRahul Iyer has spent a decade advancing the low-carbon fuels industry. As a Co-Founder of Primafuel, Mr. Iyer leads the company’s efforts in Government Affairs and Regulatory Strategy.  

Prior to Primafuel, Mr. Iyer served as Manager of Business Development for Intelligent Energy, a European energy solutions company. There he supported hydrogen generation and fuel cell technology development and lead business expansion plans for North America, Latin America, Europe and Southern Africa. At various points in his career Rahul Iyer has been involved with feedstock, fuel processing and advanced drive-train technologies, all focused on transportation sector green house gas emissions reductions.

Mr. Iyer has a policy background from Stanford and engineering degrees from UC Berkeley. He is a newly appointed member of the National Academy of Sciences Alternative Transportation Fuels Committee and an active member of the California Institute of Food and Agricultural Research at UC Davis. Mr. Iyer’s low-carbon fuels experience includes work with the World Bank, United Nations and multiple national and state governments.
