Colleen Galvin

Executive Director and Co-Founder, MBAs4NYC

Colleen Galvin is a seasoned business professional who brings a unique blend of nonprofit, corporate and start-up experience to her leadership and development role at MBAs4NYC.

Ms. Galvin started the first two years of her career at the Manpower Demonstration Research Corporation, a nonprofit public policy research firm, where she gained a solid understanding of the challenges faced by nonprofit organizations, and the power of cooperative public-private initiatives on economic development. She then spent seven years in the financial services sector, working at both Citibank and JPMorgan Chase in credit policy, product marketing, portfolio management, and new channel development. Most recently, Ms.Galvin held consulting and business development positions at technology companies in the wireless and speech recognition software industries.

After September 11, 2001, Ms. Galvin volunteered as an advocate and caseworker for small businesses in lower Manhattan, helping them to access assistance programs in the wake of the attack on the World Trade Center. It was from this experience that the idea for MBAs4NYC originated and the organization was born.

Ms. Galvin earned an M.B.A. in Finance/Marketing from New York University's Stern School of Business and holds a B.S. in Mathematics/Computer Science from Seton Hall University. Past relevant volunteer experience includes Business Volunteers for the Arts, the American Red Cross local disaster relief team, and the New York City Partnership's Restart Central program.
