Kelly
Fitzsimmons
Managing Partner
and Co-Founder, New Profit Inc.
Drawing on her 14
years of experience in both nonprofit and for-profit business development
and operations, Kelly brings a hybrid perspective and entrepreneurial
approach to solving strategic challenges faced by growing non-profits
and to advancing the field of philanthropy in general. As a founding
partner, Kelly has led the creation and development of NPI’s core
strategy and overall portfolio management approach including the adaptation
of key tools and practices to support growing organizations. She has
also played a key role in adapting for profit systems and approaches,
such as the Balanced Scorecard for use in a nonprofit setting. As a
key architect of NPI, she has played a leading role in developing NPI’s
infrastructure and broadening the NPI network of investors, co-investors,
social entrepreneurs and thought partners. Prior to launching NPI, Kelly
was COO of Crittenton Hastings House where she achieved national recognition
for their core programs. Currently Kelly serves as Chair of the Board
of Directors of City Skills.org, serves as a member of the Board of
Working Today and is a venture capital judge with the Bronner Hatchery
at Boston University. Kelly is a graduate of McGill University and holds
an MBA with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from Boston University
School of Management. She lives in Boston, is married and has two children.
