Kristin Martinez

Founder and Principal, Sound Point Ventures, LLC

Kristin Martinez founded Sound Point Ventures, LLC, in Seattle, Washington, in 1998 to provide private equity services and innovations to individuals and institutions. Sound Point organizes and manages Active Angel Funds to help investors leverage their interests, expertise, and private equity investments through a structured, collaborative process. The first fund, Angels with Attitude, is the Northwest's only seed and early-stage private equity investment fund committed to the triple bottom line: financial, social, and environmental return.

Kristin is a co-founder of and former partner in New Vantage Partners, LLC, a private equity investment advisory firm in the Mid-Atlantic. She assisted in producing two venture fairs each year for the Investors' Circle, a national network of angel and institutional investors interested in venture capital for a sustainable future. She was an advisor to the $30 million Women's Growth Capital Fund and the $25 million Telecommunications Development Fund. Her experience includes eight years in the energy industry, most recently as Vice President of Operations and Treasurer of startup Pepco Energy Services, Inc.

She is a board chair of TraceDetect, a director of Advent Solar and MACH Energy, and a board observer of Precision Farming Enterprises, Inc. She is also an Advisory Board member of the University of Washington chapter of Net Impact. Kristin holds a BS degree from Boston University and an MBA degree in finance and investments from The George Washington University.
