Michael
Conway
Principal, McKinsey
& Co., Inc.
Michael Conway is
a Principal in McKinsey's New Jersey office. He joined New Jersey in
2002 from the Oslo office. Since joining McKinsey in Chicago in late
1993, Michael has primarily worked in the pharmaceutical, medical technology,
private equity, and public health arenas. The main focus of his work
is on business and product strategies, operations improvements in R&D/product
development/medical marketing, and organizational design.
A sampling of projects
in the public sector is as follows:
- Created a business
plan for a proposed new global public health alliance focused on improving
the quality of data collected in developing countries
- Worked with a
global public health entity to evaluate the effectiveness of an organization
focused on procurement and advocacy of a particular treatment program
for one infectious disease
- Worked with a
global health alliance to evaluate the current situation regarding
vaccine coverage in developing countries, assess alternative strategic
scenarios for increasing coverage, and identify required shifts in
the operating model of the alliance in this arena to facilitate coverage
improvement
- Worked with a
global health alliance to develop the case for investing in the introduction
of two new vaccines in developing countries based on a evaluation
of critical uncertainties like the likely price/cost to product, range
of impact scenarios, or drivers/range of country usage
- Helped to design
and implement a new approach and organizational model for introduction
of two new vaccines into developing countries
Mr. Conway holds
a B.S. in biochemistry from Texas A&M University, magna cum laude. He
also holds a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. While at
the Law School, Mr. Conway was a contributor and staff member of the
University of Chicago Law Review.
