Marcela
Manubens
Vice-President
of Human Rights Programs, Phillips-Van
Heusen
Ms. Manubens, Vice-President
of Human Rights Programs for Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation has created
and directed the company’s human rights and working conditions
programs worldwide. Since 1996, Ms Manubens has participated in the
AIP –now Fair Labor Association, a tripartite initiative to eliminate
sweatshops. She is a member of the Monitoring Subcommittee.
Ms. Manubens had
taught “Human Rights and Multinational Corporations in a Global
Economy,” at Columbia University. She has been a lecturer and
guest speaker at various national and international conferences, and
has conducted Human Rights and Compliance awareness sessions in various
countries.
Ms. Manubens has
extensive working experience in multinationals in the areas of operations,
finance, auditing, CSR and ethics.
Ms. Manubens holds
an MBA from the University of Bridgeport where she was a Fulbright and
Halsey International Scholarship recipient, a CPA, and a Masters equivalent
in economics and finance from Universidad de Belgrano, Argentina.
Ms. Manubens was
born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and moved to the United
States in 1984 to pursue further academic challenges. Ms. Manubens is
bilingual in English and Spanish, and has working knowledge of Portuguese
and Italian, and basic French.
Ms. Manubens lives
in New York City with her family.
