Meeta Vyas

CBS '84, Vice President, Living Oceans Program, National Audubon Society

The National Audubon Society appointed Meeta Vyas as Vice President, Living Oceans Program in August 2002. In the two years prior to that, Meeta served as Secretary General & CEO of the Worldwide Fund for Nature in India (WWF-India), guiding its 7 major nature conservation divisions, 30 branch offices and a staff exceeding 300. Prior to her work in nature conservation, Meeta spent more than 15 years in the U.S. Corporate sector, most recently as CEO & Vice Chairman of Signature Brands ( a $280 million NASDAQ company better known as "Mr. Coffee" and "Health-O-Meter" which was acquired by Sunbeam) and General Manager, Range Products at GE Appliances (a cooking products business with over $1 billion revenues, 6 national brands, and over 2000 employees). She has also worked for McKinsey & Company, Fisher Brothers, and Exxon Chemical. Meeta graduated from M.I.T. with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 1980 and from Columbia University with a M.B.A. in Finance in 1984.
