Nielsen
Senior Director,
Corporate Citizenship, Pfizer, Inc.
Nancy Nielsen is
Senior Director, Corporate Citizenship, for Pfizer, Inc., the world's
largest pharmaceutical company. She is leading Pfizer's global cross-divisional
team on Corporate Citizenship and was the champion for Pfizer signing
the U.N. Global Compact. Pfizer is the first and still only U.S. pharmaceutical
company to sign, and the largest overall U.S. company to sign.
Prior to Pfizer,
she created and led a project at Harvard University on globalization
and backlash, and developed a three-day program for Davos, 2001. Previously,
she was Vice President, Corporate Communications at The New York Times
Company, which included Crisis Management and Investor Relations, and
was the NYT spokesperson for 14 years. Before that, she was Director
of Communications at ABC-TV and was a consultant at McKinsey & Company.
Concurrent with
the NYT, she did pro bono work in international stakeholder relations
at the United Nations, World Bank, and the Carnegie Commission on Preventing
Deadly Conflict. She's a member of the Council on Foreign Relations
and serves on its Public Diplomacy Committee, and is a trustee of the
HealthCare Chaplaincy.
She graduated from
the University of California at Berkeley with a B.A. in journalism,
and from Yale University's School of Management with an MBA.
