Quintero

Paul Quintero joined
the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation (UMEZ)
in June 2003 as Senior Vice President of Business Investments. Mr. Quintero
is responsible for the origination, due diligence, negotiation, structuring
and close of all investments made by UMEZ through its $250 million fund,
which is earmarked for the commercial and economic revitalization of
Upper Manhattan. Mr. Quintero has ten years of financial experience
as both an investment banker and certified public accountant, with significant
experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, accounting
and auditing.
Before joining UMEZ
in 2003, Mr. Quintero was a Vice President at Lehman Brothers, where
he worked in the Global Communication and Media Group within the investment
banking division. At Lehman, Paul led and managed a number of financings
and merger and acquisition transactions for clients in the wireless
and diversified media industries, including serving as sole book runner
for USA Interactive's inaugural $750 million bond offering, sole book
runner and sole arranger for TSI Telecommunications Services Inc.'s
concurrent $245 million high yield bond offering and $328 million senior
credit facility, sell-side advisor for Pegaso Telecomunicaciones' $1.36
billion sale to Telefónica and advisor to Vodafone in its $1.0 billion
acquisition of a 35% stake in Grupo Iusacell.
Prior to Lehman,
Mr. Quintero worked as a Senior Associate at Schroder & Co., where he
worked in the Industrial Manufacturing Group within the investment banking
division. While at Schroder, Paul coordinated and managed merger and
acquisition transactions for mid-cap industrial manufacturing clients,
including serving as buy-side advisor for a $750 million cross-border
acquisition of a foodservice equipment manufacturer and sell-side advisor
for a number of small private manufacturers. Before joining Schroder,
Mr. Quintero began his banking career with Chase Securities (now JPMorgan
Chase) where he coordinated and managed syndicated loan financings and
merger and acquisition transactions for both domestic and Latin American
clients across a range of industries.
Paul is a Certified
Public Accountant (CPA) and worked three years as a Senior Accountant
for the Seattle office of Deloitte & Touche. While at Deloitte, Paul
managed and performed financial statement audits and reviews, SEC filings
and consulting services for clients in the construction, manufacturing,
insurance and utility industries.
Mr. Quintero earned
a BA in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of
Washington and was among the 100 students selected by the Washington
state legislature for a four-year full tuition scholarship under the
Washington State Scholars Program. Paul earned an MBA from Columbia
Business School and was a Robert F. Toigo Foundation fellow.
Paul looks forward
to contributing to UMEZ's aim of improving the economic condition of
residents in Upper Manhattan - one deal at a time.
